Three cars, eleven people, and lots of stuff made its way from Kingscliff SDA Church over to the Tweed Valley Adventist College on the 13th December.
From the outside you could see it was lower to the ground than normal and it had to use more power to get where we wanted to. Inside we had things all around us. As I was thinking about this "journey" I was reminded of the journey we are on. A journey--a life--that starts out burdened with sin and despair, trials and perplexities; but as we give those things one by one to Jesus, He lightens the load. "For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light" (Mat 11:30).
Are you a weary traveller? Burdened by the things of the life? "'Him that cometh unto me, I will in no wise cast out' (John 6:37). If you have nothing else to plead before God but this one promise from your Lord and Saviour, you have the assurance that you will never, never be turned away. It may seem to you that you are hanging upon a single promise, but appropriate that one promise, and it will open to you the whole treasure house of the riches of the grace of Christ. Cling to that promise and you are safe. 'Him that cometh unto me, I will in no wise cast out.' Present this assurance to Jesus, and you are as safe as though inside the city of God" (10MR, p.175).
