Sharing at Local Churches
,
On the 12th of December we had opportunities to share and encourage some of the local churches near Kingscliff, NNSW, and also attend two local baptisms.
Emmanuel, Dylan, and Caleb went up to Helensvale SDA church to share some testimonies, talk about the canvassing work and share about Eastward's future plans. They stayed for lunch, a baptism and then joined the rest of the team back down in Kingsciff for another baptism.
Tim, Andy, Julie, Kasey, and Shanna went to Mullumbimby SDA Church and were able to help out by taking Sabbath School, playing music, doing items, sharing testimonies, and taking the service.
The Sabbath School was on the different covenants presented in the Bible and how to have the law of God engraved in our hearts.
"The same law that was engraved upon the tables of stone is written by the Holy Spirit upon the tables of the heart. Instead of going about to establish our own righteousness, accept the righteousness of Christ. His blood atones for our sins. His obedience is accepted for us. Then the heart renewed by the Holy Spirit will bring forth 'the fruits of the Spirit.' Through the grace of God written upon our hearts. Having the Spirit of Christ, we shall walk even as He walked" (Ellen White, PP, p.327).
In the church service Tim shared about our need to pray that Jesus' second coming will be delayed so there's time for everyone to have a chance of choosing God's ways, and also that it can be hastened so we can be with Him soon. It was a powerful and convicting sermon to be right with God--faithfully doing His work.
After sharing there we came back to Kingscliff for lunch that some friends provided for us, and later that afternoon we all headed over to the beach for some baptisms.
It was such a blessing to share at these local churches, and encourage folks by testimonies and canvassing stories.
