Starting Over
,
I am sure we have all had the experience of starting over. Sometimes starting over is cause for great excitement, and sometimes great sadness. In the garden we are constantly starting over as one crop becomes less fruitful and is pulled out to make way for another. Sometimes the decision to start over can be a hard one like when we get a bed of poor germination in our carrots and we have to sacrifice those few that did germinate (and the work and time that went into the planting of them) to start again with the hopes of getting better germination and therefore more efficient use of the bed they are planted in.
Now The Eastward Garden as a whole is facing the sad (but exciting!) prospect of starting over. The property we are currently growing on is looking like it will be sold, and so we have started the search for a new home. So, please, if you know of any property for sale (or maybe long term lease) in our region, with the soil, water and good access necessary for a market garden, please let us know!
Council Meeting Wednesday 5:30pm
Deputy Mayor Cr. Lisa Intemann has given notice of her intention to move a motion this Wednesday night to permit the Real Foods Market to start at 12 noon. You can find the meeting's agenda here. It is agenda Item 11.01
Maybe you would like to join us at this meeting to show your support for her motion! Council Chambers, 17 Burrawan Street, Port Macquarie.
Again, while we wait for Council to act, options for this week continue to be:
Pre order your vegetables (instructions below) and meet me up at the Port Central Hub (next to the carpark door in the upstairs Food Court) between 1pm & 2:30pm to pick them up
Come to the market to purchase your veggies as usual - just don't come before 3:20pm
Order your veggies via email or text (instructions below) and have them delivered to your work or home on Thursday.
Contact Desley if none of these options are going to work!
